My first DC Comics crossover, announced for 2026, and the first crossover of DC’s webtoon-style vertical scroll line, DC GO.
I designed the logo, drew the cover, and had so much fun coming up with high fashion looks for these characters. It’s a zany cosmic crossover story with a lot of fun cameos that I’m dying to spoil (but I won’t!)
I’ll be drawing the main Alpha and Omega chapters, with scripts from the brilliant Patrick R. Young (Nothing Butt Nightwing), colors from Brazilian colorist Wesllei Manoel (Hailstone) and is edited by Sabrina Futch and Katie Kubert.
We’ve already completed the Alpha chapter and are hard at work on the Omega. I’ll upload more images here when they release previews online, but it’s slated for release in October 2026.
My cover to Starfleet Academy #5 and a 5-page story I illustrated for IDW’s Star Trek: Celebrations in 2026.
I was never a huge Star Trek fan, so it was quite a joy to go on a deep dive in researching this book, as every Trekkie I personally know cares deeply about details, and I wanted to make sure I honored the rich history in my art.
The comic, in particular, includes plenty of Easter egss from various Star Trek eras, including Voyager, Deep Space 9 and the original series. I made a short video explaining my process which you can watch over HERE.
I drew and colored the cover, while the final comic was colored by the talented Katherine Shuda and scripted by the brilliant Karim Diané, who plays Klingon character Jay-Den on the show. We got a lot of positive press for this comic, from Gizmodo to the New York Times. You can see a preview of final pages over HERE.
My first series for DC Comics, this Aquaman book stars Jackson Hyde, Dolphin, and Ha’Wea on a seafaring adventure in a pirate universe. Read it here.
This is also my first time drawing Webstoon-style “vertical scroll” comics, and I had such a lovely time rethinking my storytelling to maximize the format.
I am the lead designer on the book, and worked with the writer and editor to reinterpret a ton of DC characters like Superman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, King Shark, Zatanna, and more, setting the visual tone of this madcap series.
“Aquaman: Yo-Ho Hold Onto Your Hook” is written by my longtime collaborator Josh Trujillo and drawn by myself, Niky Ielapi, and Bradley Clayton, with colors by Big Doors Studios and edits by Michael McCalister. This weekly series released as part of Wave 2 of the DC GO books and ran for 28 episodes!
A mix of published covers and personal pieces. These were all laid out traditionally then rendered digitally on Procreate. I’m excited to do more covers in the future and keep playing around with art styles!
These "Where's Wally"-style artworks were commissioned by DC's social media team for several moments through the years:
1. 2026’s Groundhog Day, showing Titans characters reenacting the annual Punxsatawney Phil ceremony with Beast Boy as the ground hog and Raven as his shadow. I made two versions of this image and they used the one which aligned with how the real-world ceremony went.
2. 2025’s Pride Month celebration image, heavily featuring DC’s trans characters, including Dreamer, Coagula (from Rachel Pollack’s Doom Patrol) and Circuit Breaker.
3. An end-of-summer post full of superheroic nods to 2024’s big pop culture moments, including Chappell Roan, the Challengers movie, John Cena at the Oscars, and more. I also threw in an Akira Toriyama tribute as he had just passed away, having DC’s Monkey King character sitting on a cloud holding a Dragon Ball.
These commissions were all created during comics conventions. I usually do these on 9 × 12 cold-pressed watercolor paper with a mix of inks, watercolors, and acrylic paints, but sometimes draw on black covers or do remarques as well. So much fun!
Preview of my new book, Secret Heart Attack, created completely on the iPad using Procreate. It’s a mix between a cartoonist autobiography and an epic superhero crossover, the most personal and ambitious comic story I’ve ever attempted.
The complete first issue is available in my shop in both print and digital editions.
If you’re in NYC, it’s also available at The League’s Fine Art Supply Shop, Desert Island and Anyone Comics in Brooklyn.
“Maybe we could do a redesign?” said writer Josh Trujillo as we were discussing our second collaboration featuring one of the newer characters in the DCU, Bunker.
A gay Mexican Teen Titan with the power to generate psionic bricks, Bunker was introduced in 2011 as part of the line-wide New52 relaunch and had appeared in very few comics since then.
It was my first time redesigning an established character, so I took the job quite seriously. I chronicled the entire design process in this YouTube video.
I pencilled, inked, and colored this while moving apartments and in 3 different countries (USA, Singapore, Japan). I also tweaked my process a bit, shifting over to using Clip Studio for inks (previously, I’d done everything in Procreate.)
“It’s a Bunkerful Life” was published in the 2023 holiday special, DC’s ’Twas the ‘Mite Before Christmas, and reunites me with writer Josh Trujillo, letterer Lucas Gattoni, and editor Michael McCalister. Of the three DC projects I did in 2023, I think this was the most refined.
A few pages from a 10-page story I pencilled, inked and colored for DC Comics’ anthology SHAZAM! Fury of the Gods Special: Shazamily Matters. This released in March 2023 to coincide with the movie. The story was by actor Ross Butler and writer Josh Trujillo.
I wasn’t sure if this was going to be my only chance to work with DC so I did my best to cram a ton of easter eggs and references into the background.
Trujillo’s script specifically called out Calvin & Hobbes as a reference, and as I’m a diehard Bill Watterson fan it was fun to infuse the art with that imaginative glee. The VR helmet in particular is a nod to Calvin’s “Yukon Ho!” storyline where he decides to secede from his family (a nice parallel with our titular Eugene character, who uses the helmet to escape his own.)
I made a few videos talking about this project on YouTube, including a vlog and a look through the book (with one more process-oriented video on the way!)
From October 2019-January 2020, I decided to do 33 X-men drawings as a personal challenge and a love letter to these comics. Here are some of my favorites, all done digitally using Procreate on the iPad.
This humorous short comic was first published in my book, Kare-Kare Komiks (Anino Comics, 2016). Like all my comics, it’s based on a true story.
First published in “Slaying the Dragon” (2015), this comic was done on bristol board with a mix of Pigma Microns, india ink and classic crow quills. The prompt was to do a story about dragons, and somehow I ended up with this tale about spirituality, and the stories we tell ourselves.
